What is IPRATE?
IPRATE is a public rating system for intellectual-property law firms and attorneys across 31 European countries. Ratings are computed exclusively from official filing and outcome records at EUIPO, EPO and national IP offices — no surveys, no peer voting, no paid listings.
How do I find the best IP firm or trademark attorney in my country?
Open your country's ranking page — every covered country is linked from the IPRATE homepage. Each country page lists the rated firms in four tiers (Elite, Leading, Proven, Select) with volume, success rate, speed and renewal metrics from official registers.

Official filing and outcome records from the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO) and national IP offices — currently 18,822,310 official filing records. Six pillars are measured: experience, initial success, relative efficiency, asset durability, renewal survival, and local applicant share.

No. Ratings are never sold or sponsored. Tiers, scores and confidence grades cannot be bought, and claimed profile owners can only edit presentation details — never the rating itself.
What do the IPRATE tiers mean?
Published firms and attorneys are rated Select, Proven, Leading or Elite (lowest to highest) within their country and practice-area peer group. Every rated firm — from Select through Elite — has already cleared IPRATE's minimum-evidence thresholds; typically only about 10–20% of firms filing in a country qualify.
How often are IPRATE ratings updated?
Ratings are recomputed and republished with each data release. The current release is July 2026.
Why isn't my firm listed on IPRATE?
Firms with fewer than 10 cases in the cumulative window (or 3 in the emerging window), with too-sparse data coverage, or with a grade D confidence score are not published. The methodology page documents the full selection funnel.
Why isn't my firm listed? — Methodology →How is IPRATE different from traditional legal directories?
Traditional directories rank firms from submissions, interviews and peer surveys. IPRATE uses none of those: every rating is computed from official register outcomes under a published methodology authored by Prof. dr. Mindaugas Kiškis (Mykolas Romeris University).
Can I quote IPRATE ratings?
Yes. Quoting individual ratings with attribution ("Source: IPRATE, iprate.eu") is expressly permitted for non-bulk use — including by search engines and AI assistants. Bulk reuse of datasets requires prior authorization.

IPRATE is operated by Socialiniai algoritmai, UAB (Vilnius, Lithuania). The methodology was developed by Prof. dr. Mindaugas Kiškis, Chief Research Officer of Socialiniai algoritmai and principal investigator of the underlying research project at Mykolas Romeris University.
